My-o2-appIf you’re an iPhone user on O2, there’s an app you simply have to check out: it’s called My O2, and it simply allows you to check all your details and allowances on the go, straight from an icon on your homescreen.

It’s dead handy, but the team of crack developers behind it aren’t just resting on their laurels. They want to know just what can be improved still – now’s your time to say!

Since the My O2 iPhone app first launched in 2009, we’ve seen lots of positive feedback, but we’ve also seen and heard about your problems, and today we want to address them.

O2 is working on that already. The most common request has been for an easy to use data allowance balance: currently, the My O2 app sends you through to the mobile web version of My O2 to do this. Version 2.5, due out later this month, is intended to address that, and instead show you how many megabytes you’ve got left without leaving the app.

That’ll be followed shortly by another update to version 3.0 in the weeks afterwards, which will offer a new user interface and an easier way to get a quick glance at all your essential information. That includes an easy way to add new data Bolt Ons straight from the app, if it looks like you’re about to use all yours up.

We’ve also had a lot of requests for an Android version of the My O2 app, and we can reveal that’s coming soon: O2 also plans to have it reach feature parity with the iPhone version by the end of the year.

But we don’t want to stop there. If you’re an iPhone user and you’ve thought of ways to improve the app, we’d love to hear your suggestions. It’s easy to contact us: just jot your thoughts down in the comments below, or send us a tweet on @O2.

And if you’re not, we’d love to hear what you make of the mobile optimized website, and what smartphone platform you’d like to see a My O2 app for next.
