According to Ofcom, broadband speeds have trebled over the past four years. But with the rise of bring-your-own, growing file sizes and the ever increasing customer demand for a consistent online experience, there’s a need for quicker, more reliable internet.

We wanted to find out how organisations felt about their internet connection and the challenges they face. That’s why we set up a quick survey. To get some answers direct from organisations – and to see if they could benefit from High Speed Internet from O2.

The results

  • 83% still use standard broadband

The High Speed Internet switchover hasn’t taken hold yet, but the demand for internet will soon outstrip the supply

  • 61% said their internet connection slows down at peak times

The majority of businesses are slowing down when they need to be as fast as possible.

  • 92% of that group feel it’s a problem

It makes sense. Customers, suppliers and your people are busy too.

  • 37% can’t increase their bandwidth

It’s proving to be a bit of a headache to prepare for growing internet demand.

  • 71% have their internet down for half a day or more per year

It might seem a small amount, but there’s a lot that can be achieved in half a day. It’s vital to stay connected.

  • 50% don’t have protection for outages

When the unthinkable happens, half of businesses are left in the dark.
