A group of lucky O2 customers managed to skip the long queues for the new Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus at the O2 store in Westfield White City this morning thanks to a cast of unusual ‘line sitters’ the company had laid on for them.

The peculiar line up of stand-ins queuing up on behalf of the customers included a Viking, a panto cow, cheerleaders, a gorilla and even 90s favourite duo, The Chuckle Brothers – and allowed the iPhone fans to become some of the UK’s first owners of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

Nina Bibby, Marketing and Consumer Director at O2 in the UK, said: “We know there’s nothing better than always having the latest iPhone, and this morning’s “Peculiar Queue” was another opportunity to put our customers first and get the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus into their hands with no waiting. Plus this time next year they’ll be first in line to get a new phone again thanks to our new O2 Refresh tariff.”

The Chuckle Brothers Barry and Paul Chuckle also said: “It was great to be able to entertain people while they were waiting in line for the new iPhone 6s, and allow O2 customers the chance for a lie-in.”

Jennifer Thorne, an O2 customer added: “It was a dream to just rock up, walk in, pick up my new iPhone 6s and walk out, without any fuss. And I can’t lie; it was great to have The Chuckle Brothers queuing up for me too!”

The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus is available to buy at www.o2.co.uk and O2 stores nationwide from today. In an UK first, customers buying iPhone 6S and 6S Plus on O2 will be eligible to get a new phone exactly one year later, without having to pay off their old agreement or wait until the end of their contract.
