What a way to mark the re-launch of the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire – to host a War Child gig featuring The Killers and Coldplay on 18 February!

The gig has been set up to celebrate the 16 February release of Heroes, War Child’s new album. With each band rocking out for 45 minutes it’s bound to be an exciting night for the 2000 lucky fans!

Tickets cost £50 each and there’ll be a lottery system set up to make sure they’re given out fairly. You can find more information at www.warchildheroes.com.

Here’s what a few people involved with the gig thinks of it.

Alistair Johnston, Marketing Director at O2: “We can’t think of a better way to launch the O2 Academy venues than through supporting this special event.”

Ben Knowles, Music Director of War Child: “This is a really special way to mark War Child’s 15th birthday – and a once in a lifetime night.”

Coldplay: “In our eyes, War Child is one of the world's most important charities, and The Killers are one of our favourite bands, so playing this concert is an absolute pleasure for us.”

The Killers: "Coldplay were one of the bands that gave us hope when we were just four boys in a garage. To share the stage with them for the War Child cause is an honour."
