Hello from Portoviejo. The biggest problem that Pronino is solving is stopping the work of kids and getting them back in school. Here in Portoviejo, the biggest problem is the dump.
In Spanish it's called basurales, where the realy small kids work as recyclers.
We went there on a back of an offroad car with a person from the ministry of work and the view was worse than we expected. Imagine a dump one mile long where old trash is burning, the smell making your eyes water, thousands of birds are looking for something to eat… and in between small kids are looking for PET bottles and paper to put aside to sell. Everything is just finished with cows and donkeys eating the trash and waiting for the end of the day when they will help with all the stuff.
After interviewing couple of kids, we took 2 of them to the city and the supervisor from DyA (centre of freetime) explained them the rights of children and offered them help.
So this story ended successfully for these 2, at least for this day, however its a long way to go and right now I am glad to be helping.
