Hola a todos!

It´s day 2 in El Salvador and after a 48 hour journey which included an unexpected overnight stop in Houston, Texas with no luggage, we finally arrived in El Salvador yesterday. We met the other volunteers and had a swim and a shower and finally got out of the clothes we were wearing for 2 days.

Today we visited the 3 schools we will work in and were made to feel most welcome. In the final school there was a drum and trumpet band of 20 students to play for us, they had the Irish flag up and we had some local puposas and home brew, both made from maize.

The weather is not too hot here but it is very humid in some of the schools, and as I am in charge of sports activities, its going to be an interesting 3 weeks running around in this heat after the kids.

The food and the hotel are both lovely, and tomorrow we start work officially.

Hasta luego chicos,
Terry
