Silver (Fictional)

Real life racehorses don’t get any greater than Red Rum, the only steed to ever win the Grand National three times, and place second twice more. No other horse has come close to this success: Red Rum was the closest a horse has ever come to a celebrity.

Seabiscuit (Real)
The star of several movies and books, Seabiscuit was not only one of the most successful racehorses in American history, but a legend to many during the Great Depression, overcoming injury, a ridiculous name, and even a film starring Tobey Maguire.

Shadowfax (Fictional)
The fastest horse on Middle Earth, only capable of being ridden by a wizard, Gandalf. You can see director Peter Jackson’s take on Shadowfax in the clip from The Lord Of The Rings below. It’s a bit Bay Watch, isn’t it?
