If you thought sharing photos with your Twitter followers was a bit of a faff, we’ve been working with Twitter to make it that much easier. From today @O2 customers can now share photos from their mobiles on Twitter simply by sending them as a MMS.

To set this up all you need to do is make sure you have a MMS-enabled mobile phone and that your mobile number is linked to your Twitter account (log into Twitter online and select mobile in settings or send a SMS with the word ‘start’ to 86444). Then to share a photo on Twitter, simply send it as a MMS to the shortcode 86444. If you have a MMS bundle, it will be taken from this or it will be charged at the standard MMS rate.

Then whether it’s a celeb spot or something funny you’ve seen, you can make sure all your Twitter followers share in the experience in the flash of a MMS.

This has all been made possible by the folks at BlueVia, Telefonica’s developer platform, who worked with Twitter to make our MMS APIs available and ensure it’s as easy as saying cheese to use.

Go on, give it a go!
