If you’re like us, you will be wishing for a shiny new gadget in your stocking this year.  The question is, what will you do with your old gadget if it is replaced by a newer model?  Or like many people in the UK, you may have a draw full of unloved gadgets just begging for a new home?

O2 Recycle offers the perfect solution; it’s an easy and ethical recycling service that can earn you a few extra pounds to buy some more Christmas gifts or see you through the January blues.  Technology websites Tech Digest, Shiny Shiny and Hippy Shopper agreed that it is a great service and want to make sure their readers know about it in the run up to Christmas and into the New Year.  That is why from today they are recycling all their old gadgets with us and will be donating any money they make using the service to Great Ormond Street Hospital

Any profits we make go directly into Think Big, our charity initiative for young people, which aims to bring about positive change in local communities by championing the ideas of young people. Young people between 13 and 25 can apply for an award for their projects and benefit from a package of training, support and mentoring; from project management to communications and from presentation skills to networking. After the initial grant, they will also have the chance to apply for £2,500 to further boost their project.

The Shiny Media blogs are also calling upon their readers to send in their old gadgets, to raise money for both Think Big and for Great Ormond Street Hospital. So if you would like to get involved and help raise some money for a worthy cause this Christmas, head to http://www.techdigest.tv
