It’s been a busy Sunday for the O2 business team. While most of you have been tucking into your Sunday roasts and spoiling your mothers on Mothering Sunday, we’ve been on the bustling show floor of Business 2012 at The O2 on stand D3.

It’s the first business show we have done in a while and it is great to spend time talking to businesses and understanding what they need from companies like us and what their concerns and challenges are in running a business in the UK today.

We believe that businesses are better off with O2 not only for mobile but also for landline and broadband needs too. During the show, we’ll be giving visitors a taste of the O2 experience. They can create a message on our digital table which can be tweeted, shared on FaceBook or emailed to a colleague or friend. On our stand you can receive a gift on us – free coffee and cake-pop, charge your phone, relax with a coffee or ask the O2 Gurus a challenging question.

But there’s still two days left to go – so we thought we’d get the week off to an exciting start…

Last week we announced that Wayra, Telefonica’s global start-up accelerator for technology entrepreneurs, is coming  – so we’re especially excited to welcome the Wayra team to our stand at Business 2012 for Monday’s show. They’ll be giving updates on the new UK academy and how they it will help budding British technology entrepreneurs turn their innovative digital business concepts into practical realities.

Anne Parker, Operations Director for Wayra in the UK will be on the show floor (Monday 19 March only) to talk about the programme and give interested entrepreneurs and businesses some hints and tips on how to apply. Equally, she is really keen to hear from businesses about the help they need in getting going or getting to the next stage of development.  So if you have an idea, or a business that wants to move up a gear that uses technology Ann would love to chat. Don’t forget  Start ups can submit their projects to Wayra at www.wayra.org/en/wayra-uk-call-2012. The deadline for submissions is 22 April. And in case you’re wondering, Wayra means ‘wind’ in Quechua, a language of the central Andes!
