Today, we’re excited to announce our latest addition to the O2 Wifi footprint, as the free service goes live in some of the busiest parts of London.

No matter if you live or work in the capital, or if you’re just visiting for a while, you’ll be able to log on to the fast, free, reliable wifi in iconic areas like Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus and Exhibition Road.O2 Wifi’s latest partnership, with Westminster City Council and the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, will ensure that London’s one million or so daily visitors and commuters can stay online when they’re out and about, as well as those who’ll form part of the 13% increase in visitors over the summer.

Connecting to O2 Wifi is quick, easy and completely free for anyone, regardless of their mobile or broadband supplier, making it quick and easy to check for travel updates, find your way around the city or simply to check into some of the world’s best tourist spots or upload your snaps to make your Facebook friends jealous.

Once registered, your wifi-enabled device will connect to O2 Wifi whenever a hotspot is in range – including those in our other partner venues, which include McDonalds, House of Fraser and Costa Coffee.

The new scheme in London runs at no cost to the council or the taxpayer. By the end of July, it’ll span Exhibition Road, High Street Kensington, Parliament Square, Trafalgar Square, Oxford Street/Regent Street, Leicester Square and Piccadilly. Content on the homepage will update automatically, based on the users’ location and the UK’s leading premium department store, House of Fraser, will be the first exclusive advertiser across the outdoor O2 Wifi network.
