Our favourite business apps
2013 is well and truly underway. So, how are your New Year’s resolutions coming along? Still counting those calories/miles/smoke-free days?
Congratulations if you’re still on track! If not, you don’t need to wait another year to make a fresh start. There are loads of apps to help you stick to those resolutions.
And there are loads of apps that can make business much easier. Here’s a round-up of some of our favourite apps for business:
Expensify (iOS, Android, Windows)
This app makes life a lot easier for contractors and small to medium-sized businesses. Use it to manage and access travel plans and updates, track miles and log billable time. Just take pictures of any receipts, and the app will ‘type’ the expense details out for you.
You can run reports on company spending, reimburse expenses via ACH Direct Deposit or Paypal, and it integrates with all accounting and payroll packages – with ironclad security.
DocScanner® (iOS, Android, Windows)
This clever app turns your smartphone or tablet into a scanner. Simply take a picture of the document you need, and DocScanner will turn it into a PDF.
Save it, email it, or store it in the cloud.
GoToMyPC® (iOS, Android and Kindle Fire)
Work on your office computer from your tablet or smartphone. This app provides fast, secure access to your Mac or PC from any web browser.
All your files and documents are at your fingertips so you can be productive wherever you are.
Priority Moments (iOS, Android, Windows and BlackBerry)
If you’re a retailer, this app could help increase your footfall and revenue. Use Priority Moments , which are now available to all businesses, to share special offers with O2 customers within reach of your shop. It’s free – just go online to set up your offer. Once it’s live, you can pause, resume and repeat it at any time.
Sleep Cycle (iOS)
Also not strictly a business app, but we think anything that makes mornings easier is worth investigating. Sleep Cycle analyses the way you move when you’re asleep to work out your sleeping pattern. Then it wakes you up when you’re in the lightest sleep phase – the most natural time for your body to wake up.
