O2 Tracks One to Watch in 2014: Royal Blood

Our latest O2 Tracks One to watch in 2014 features two-piece power rock band, Royal Blood.

Formed at the beginning of 2013, Royal Blood are a couple of Brighton boys with awesome beards. Having played in different bands for years, Mike Kerr (bassist/vocalist) and Ben Thatcher (drums) finally came together and recorded ‘Figure It Out’ – the first track that brought them attention. Now they’re on a mission to save British rock.

Love White Stripes and Queens of the Stone Age? You’ll probably like these guys. Their brand of melodic, riff-heavy power rock has caught the attention of the rock community following their wildly popular single, ‘Out of the Black’. Acknowledged on the BBC Sound of 2014 long list and nominated for MTV’s New for 2014 award, Royal Blood have attracted admirers from around the world, including the Arctic Monkeys. As well as wearing Royal Blood t-shirts during their Glastonbury set in 2013, the Sheffield scamps have signed the boys to tour with them later this year.

Check out an exclusive interview with Royal Blood and listen to their new material in the latest O2 Tracks appcast which is now available.  Not got O2 Tracks yet? Just text TRACKS to 61202 to get started.
