“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.” Muhammaed Ali’s famous quote, dating back to 1974, is probably the best way to describe HTC’s latest offering. The One Mini 2, coming soon to the blue corner, is the One (M8)’s new little sibling. And it packs a punch.

Smartphones today are big. And we’re not just talking about their popularity. With ever-increasing specs and screen sizes, the chances are that when you go shopping for jeans, pocket size is now a very real concern. As the march of the smartphone continues, the space available in a handbag for nail files, toilet roll, chocolate and whatever else lurks in there is dwindling. Anyone who dares to defy the trend and stick with a smaller phone gets left behind when it comes to performance or ‘cool points’.

Until now.

The HTC One Mini 2 shares its design with the One (M8) – in fact, it’s almost identical to look at, besides the obvious size difference. It’s got the same iconic aluminium unibody that had phone geeks drooling when the One (M8) was launched, and the 4.5-inch HD display is a thing of beauty. With 16GB of memory and the option to add more via MicroSD, you’re not going to run out of space in a hurry – on your phone or in your pocket.

HTC’s acclaimed software tweaks make the awesome Android KitKat user experience even better – HTC BlinkFeed™ turns your home screen into a live stream of the social updates and news stuff that’s important to you. Then there’s Zoe™, which helps you make the most of the 13MP rear camera, and the 5MP front one. Perfect selfie, right there.

It all sounds pretty good, right? Actually, it sounds amazing, thanks to the same HTC BoomSound™ technology that One (M8) users rock out to every day.

The thing that amazes us, though, is how they packed all of this, plus 4G-readiness and a whole lot more, into a smartphone that weighs just 137 grams.

There’s no denying that the One Mini 2 is a pint-sized powerhouse, and we’re looking forward to seeing it KO the notion that ‘bigger is better’. Fancy getting your hands on it when it arrives? Just head HERE and we’ll keep you in the loop.
