Our pick of June's O2 Academy gigs

Is it summer yet? We had a gander through the gigs taking place at our O2 Academies in June and picked out the perfect warm up to the festival season.

17 year old Kiwi sensation Lorde graces our shores after a phenomenal 12 months since bursting on to the scene with smash hit Royals. Now you get a chance to see this Grammy award-winning pop sensation in Brixton on 6 June. Don’t miss out.

American singer-songwriter, Jason Derulo takes the stage at Sheffield’s O2 Academy on 20 June. With countless hits including Trumpets, In My Head and Whatcha Say and his most recent UK album, Tattoos, smashing the top five in the charts, JD will have you dancing all night. Let’s take you back to the concrete streets, original beats with real live MCs in the form of Jurassic 5. After eight years out of the limelight, the hip hop crew hailing from L.A are back with a bang in Brixton (20, 21) and Bristol (25). They recently released comeback single The Way We Do It, and will be tearing up the stage once again with plenty of classics. Watch what happened when they performed in Brixton in 2013.

Brooklyn boys Parquet Court blaze down to Oxford on 26 June with a whole lotta lovely lo-fi hardcore punk. The band recently released their fourth studio album, Sunbathing Animal, receiving rave reviews from critics. Watch their Be More Dog inspired video for title track Sunbathing Animal, and snap up a ticket before it’s too late.
