Strike a pose: the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is in vogue
The new must-have accessory for autumn is here – but it’s not a ’90s style choker or a leopard-print scarf: it’s the metal-clad Samsung Galaxy Alpha which hits pre-order today. The O2 Gurus bring you the skinny on the skinny phone:
1. It’s quite a head-turner
Just look at it:
The Alpha’s eye-catching design would complement any ensemble. The metal frame is very autumn/winter 2014 and adds an air of easy elegance to the phone. The Galaxy Alpha is also super slim – under 7mm – which makes it one of the thinnest Galaxy handsets of all time and means no unsightly pocket bulge to worry about. You can pick it up in white, black or silver.
2. It feels good to hold
Since you spend so much time with your phone in your hand, you want to be sure you’re getting a phone that feels nice to hold. Samsung’s gone for a textured back on the Alpha, which not only looks and feels good but also makes it less likely to slip out of your hand.
3. It’s got a lot of oomph for the snap-happy
Do not fear: the Galaxy Alpha is not suffering from a case of style over substance. That slim and stylish body hides a powerhouse smartphone. There’s an advanced 12MP camera on board, which snaps beautiful bright shots even when the scene is struggling for light. Selfie fans will also be more than satisfied with the enhanced front-facing camera.
4. It won’t let you down when you’re in a jam
We’ve talked before about Samsung’s cool Ultra Power Saving mode – we picked it out as a winning feature of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S, so we’re pleased to see that the Galaxy Alpha has it too. When you’re running low on battery, Ultra Power Saving mode basically shuts down all the non-essential functions on your phone to eke the most out of your battery and keep it alive for emergency use. Nifty.
5. The screen is a dream
The 4.7-inch screen on the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is a full HD Super AMOLED display. Super AMOLED is Samsung’s own screen tech that promises little glare but goes big on colours and sharpness – perfect for watching films on the go.
If you like the look of the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, then we have good news: you can pre-order the handset from today!
