Young creatives invited to Think Big
2015 marks the 5th year of O2’s Think Big programme, impacting young people in the UK and across Europe. Supported by the Telefonica Foundation, O2 Think Big gives young people the digital and entrepreneurial skills they need to create positive social change.
O2 Think Big has a proud tradition of putting money and trust in young people’s hands to lead change. We believe that by tapping into the talent and creativity of a generation, we can tackle key social issues and inspire young people to develop the entrepreneurial, digital and work skills to succeed.
In keeping with our tradition of co-creating solutions with young people, O2 is working in partnership with Talenthouse, to offer a unique opportunity for artists, illustrators and designers across the world to help provide illustration over photography assets which will become part of a global O2 Think Big re-brand.
The brief is simple. We’ve selected six stories from inspiring young project leaders which highlight the transformative power of Think Big. These include the stories of Hannah Catmur, Kurt Lee, Ba Khai Tran, Manolo Ballarin, Meritxell Molina and Thao Tran – young leaders who have used the investment from Think Big to lead remarkable social change projects.
Artists and creatives are invited to select one or all of these, then download their images and tell their #ThinkBigStory in a creative way as illustration over the top of the photographs.
One artist, as selected by judges from O2, Telefonica Foundation and the Creative Directors of Lambie Nairn, will receive the opportunity to work one-on-one with the creative heads at the agency in Central London to further develop their submission into a brand ready for release into the global market.
The selected artist will also receive paid travel and accommodation for the visit, expert guidance and advice on enhancing their portfolio at the agency, exposure across O2’s global platforms and social media, and €2,000. In addition to the selected artist, six artists who best capture one of the six Think Big Ambassadors and their corresponding projects will receive €550 each.
We’re also opening all creative entries to a public vote and the two artists with the highest number of social votes from friends and family will both earn the title of Highest Voted and receive €550 each.
We’re excited to be putting young people at the heart of remixing and refreshing our brand and can’t wait to see the results.
