Learn about e-safety with our Easter Chicks
We have a brand new internet safety lesson for you to share with your kids this Easter
During Safer Internet Week 2015, we bought Safe-Bots to schools across the country, and even got our Gurus to lead a couple of special sessions in our flagship stores in Tottenham Court Road, London and White Rose, Leeds.
Teaching the whole family to be safer online
Together with Digital Me, kids built and coloured in a mini robot, cat or dog and added their very own safer internet message. The activity introduced young people to e-safety messaging and, most importantly, got parents involved in the discussion.
Start learning with our Safe-Chicks
This Easter, we’ve created a brand new internet safety lesson using Safe-Chicks.
Young people can create an Easter chick robot, this time learning more specifically about location services and geo-location when using a mobile device. Once complete, they can upload and share it on the Safe-Bot map, earning themselves an online e-safety badge!
All of the teaching resources for Safe Geolocation and the template for the Safe-Chick itself can be found within the e-safety badge itself for you to use at home and start making your own Safe-Chicks.
If you’re visiting Leeds over the Easter Break, we have some fantastic partner organisations who are running the activity for us! Check out where we’ll be heading:
- Playful Leeds Saturday 4th April – Charlie Cake, Armley Park 1pm-4pm
- Scrap Leeds Friday 17th April – Farsley 1pm-4pm
- Leeds Library Wednesday 15th April – Leeds City Centre All Day
