Connected Venues: O2 Wifi given seal of approval by Cisco
Increasingly, technology is at the heart of great customer experiences. Customers want to be connected, they want to share updates, they want to pass the time using entertainment apps, they want to find their way using location-based services and they want to be able to do this wherever and whenever.
So let’s look at the sports and entertainment industry, specifically stadiums. Research from the Future Foundation shows that 69% of fans agree that improving the quality of wifi connectivity within venues would significantly improve the overall experience of being there. 51% of fans would like to share experiences with friends and family and 48% want to post on social media channels during a live event.
O2 are giving fans what they want through O2 Wifi. It’s available on a wide range of devices in thousands of locations nationwide and it’s open to everyone allowing users to do more away from home. But don’t just take our word for it – we are proud to announce that O2 Wifi has been awarded Connected Stadium Wifi (CSWF) accreditation by Cisco, their first European partner to be accredited with the CSWF badge.
And the good news doesn’t end there. At the end of May, O2 will be rolling out O2 Wifi Extra, a secure and seamless wifi service for O2 customers which removes the registration process meaning automatic connection to more than 11,000 hotspots, making it even quicker and easier to get online.
