Join Ricardo for a celebratory pit stop

By O2 Business

Ricardo is a global engineering, strategic and environmental consultancy and back in May, Ricardo staff from around the world set off on a global two-month adventure. On July 20th, drivers taking part in the Ricardo 100 Global Challenge will arrive at our Bath Road offices for a pit stop. And you could be there to meet the team and celebrate with them.

In just eight weeks, Ricardo’s most adventurous people will have crossed Europe, North America and Asia. They will have covered thousands of miles of different terrain and done it in style with vehicles significant to Ricardo’s first 100 years. From airplanes to boats to cars, they’ve used all types of transport. There will be a Dodge Challenger, McLaren MP4-12C, BMW 1300s and more in convoy – each turning heads throughout the journey. And raising money for charity.

We developed a tracker tool with our partners Over-C, Jasper and Concirrus for the trip. From the winding tracks of the Himilayas to the never-ending straights of Nevada, we helped teams and fans keep track of progress. And, as the drivers near home, we’re putting on a special event to help them celebrate.

‘After such a monumental journey, the event in July is our way of saying well done to everyone who took part in the Ricardo 100 Global Challenge,’ said Vinnett Taylor, our Head of M2M and IoT Specialists. ‘It’s also an excuse to bring lots of interesting people together and get them talking and sharing. Everyone’s looking forward to welcoming the challenge on its approach to our Bath Road offices.’

The Discovery Session on July 20th will give guests a chance to meet, greet and network. We’ll offer one-to-one sessions on Drive from O2 products, that help control fleets of vehicles more efficiently, safely and cheaper. And we’ll talk through the truths and myths of M2M technology and the Internet of Things.
