6 Reasons not to miss the O2 Touch Tour in London
With the final leg of the O2 Touch Tour this Sunday 26 July, we’re feeling nostalgic already. We’ve taken the event across the country from Loughborough and Bath, all the way to Manchester, and now it’s time to carry it home to the big smoke for the grand finale. London we’re coming for you, and there’s something for everyone!
Here are our top six moments that you can only experience on the O2 Touch Tour this weekend:
1. Grabbing a selfie with the one and only Jonny Wilkinson.
Get your selfie sticks at the ready as Jonny will be waiting for you with his winning smile and some top tips to improve your touch rugby game if you’re in his O2 Touch Taster Session. And if you’ve ever wanted to ask Jonny what it was like to kick the winning drop goal in 2003, now’s your chance – he’ll be answering all of your questions in a live Q&A with Vernon Kay.
2. Let England Rugby star Jason Robinson entertain you.
In Manchester, we were loving Jason’s skills on the decks as he learnt to DJ from our professionals, who will be playing the soundtrack to your day. So we can’t wait to see what he brings to the table in London. If you’re really lucky, Jason might even burst into song and bust some moves to entertain the crowd (what a guy!). On top of all of this, Jason will also be taking part in the O2 Touch Taster sessions, so you’ll witness his signature side-step move first-hand. He may even teach it to you if you ask nicely.
Vernon will be bringing his A-game and keeping you entertained throughout the day, getting you involved with competitions and activities to win some great prizes. It’s your chance to show the professionals how it’s done.
4. Standing in the middle of an England Rugby training sesh with Oculus Rift technology.
Oculus Rift is a 360 degree virtual training experience that allows you to take part in a training session led by the England coaching team. What better way to ‘Wear the Rose’ than by becoming part of the squad with a team talk from Captain Chris Robshaw, getting tackled by hooker Tom Youngs, and receiving a pass from Mike Brown? Visit the Wear The Rose truck, and don’t forget to take a photo in the replica Twickenham stadium changing rooms so you get the full England Rugby experience.
5. Getting a taste of the sport everyone is talking about this year.
If you’re a newbie to rugby, now is the chance to get involved. With coaching from specialist England Rugby Community Coaches in our free O2 Touch Taster Sessions, we’ll introduce you to the basics and by the end you’ll be playing a full game of touch rugby.
6. Watching the pros battle it out in the tournament.
Already part of a local touch rugby team? Enter our O2 Touch tournament today and show Jonny and Jason what you’ve got. You might even win an ultimate team talk with one of the England legends to motivate and inspire you for the competition ahead!
