Get Involved with Blood Bike Awareness Day

We’re proud to support the Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes (NABB) by helping them with their essential technology and communication needs.  Sharing our expertise and innovation is a great way to help this organisation who are on the front line supporting the wider emergency services.  As part of our on-going commitment to the Blood Bikes, we’re pleased to announce Blood Bike Awareness Day, to be held on Friday 14 August 2015.

Blood Bikers are the 1,500 men and women all over Britain who dedicate a few evenings a month to provide an out-of-hours rapid response courier service as well as transporting hospital deliveries across the country.  The Blood Bikers are all volunteers, and in 2014 they responded to around 39,000 urgent requests from hospitals, saving the NHS hundreds of thousands of pounds.  We’ll be spending the day helping to raise awareness of the fantastic work Blood Bikers do. You’ll be able to keep up-to-date with all of the latest news right here on The Blue, or you can follow the #BloodBikeDay hashtag on your favourite social network to join in with the celebrations in real time.

We will also be sponsoring a competition on the day, hosting Twitter chats with real Blood Bikers, showcasing Blood Bikes life-saving work, and sharing games and quizzes that have been created to let you know more about their work. Get involved with Blood Bike Awareness Day by using the #BloodBikeDay hashtag and by joining in the fun on Friday. In the meantime, you can also follow @O2BusinessUK for further updates, or watch a short film about the amazing work of the Blood Bikers here.
