G-Cloud 7: O2 at work in the Public Sector
by Neil Cruden, Framework Manager at Telefónica UK
Money is tight. And with challenging budgets agreed at the latest spending review, the Government and Public Sector are looking to save money. Cloud Services could be the answer. They can help slash the cost of legacy IT systems and encourage mobility, flexible working and workforce optimisation. Better still, by using efficient procurement routes, even bigger savings can be made.
As you’ll know, G-Cloud continues to be the designated, direct-award route for cloud services listed in the Digital Marketplace.
The framework, now in its seventh version known as G-Cloud 7, has continued the digital revolution. It is now easier than ever before for Public Sector organisations to buy off the shelf services. And, at a fraction of the price of bespoke products.
Since launch, the G-Cloud frameworks have allowed Public Sector organisations to procure over £806m of cloud services. Until recently, 77% of that has been to Central Government departments. But, this is beginning to change with adoption increasing across the wider Public Sector. As this trend continues, we’re perfectly positioned. We have an increasingly credible portfolio of products that can help customers in their journey towards cloud-adoption.
I am delighted to confirm that O2 Telefónica has been successful in regaining its place on all four lots of the new framework, with a total of 18 offerings. This means we can give Public Sector organisations the cloud services they will need to underpin any digital strategy.
Our new, broader portfolio of service offerings make G-Cloud 7 a more credible and attractive procurement vehicle for our Public Sector customers.
If you’re already an O2 customer, you can get in touch with your account manager to discuss O2’s position on the G-Cloud framework.
