1st Edition ' a new approach to collaborative customer development of O2 products

Telefonica UK today announced 1st Edition ‘ an innovative approach that lets interested customers collaboratively shape new services from O2 before they are launched. 1st Edition seeks end-user input on pre-launch products, helping refine and improve customer experience while increasing the speed to market for the latest innovations.

The 1st Edition badge will sit across a range of products, with the first example being O2 Connect ‘ a new mobile service that allows smartphone users to make calls over WiFi from their normal mobile number.

Ronan Dunne, CEO of Telefonica UK, said: ‘Customers today expect and enjoy being able to be part of a live dialogue to help improve products ‘on the go’. 1st Edition presents an opportunity to ignite conversations with our customers and enable them to shape our products and services through hands-on feedback. It will also be a key business driver for innovation and help increase our speed to market in an increasingly crowded marketplace.’

Customers can try 1st Edition branded applications from the Android, iTunes, BlackBerry or any other major app store, as and when they are released. Feedback and information on the latest releases will feature on the 1st Edition website.

The 1st Edition approach will act as a catalyst for a bold customer-centric approach to bringing new digital products to market, and underlines Telefonica UK’s commitment to bold and collaborative innovation. It will also be rolled out across Telefonica Europe’s other markets in coming months.
