O2 is proud to announce today that the new Sky Mobile TV app, available to all Apple iPhone customers through the App Store, will be available on Wi-Fi free to the first 150,000 iPhone customers on O2 for the first three months.

The app allows customers to watch a live feed of content and usually costs £6 a month, however iPhone customers on O2 can text ”SKY” to 2020 to download a promotional code which allows them to receive the app for free for the first three months.

Sky Mobile TV includes channels such as Sky Sports 1, 2 and 3, Sky Sports News, Sky Sports Extra, Sky News, At The Races and ESPN and can be accessed via Wi-Fi. All iPhone customers on O2 receive unlimited Wi-Fi in the UK as part of their iPhone tariff.

O2 is also refreshing its free My O2 application later this month, designed to make staying in control of your spending even easier. The app, an extension of the My O2 section of o2.co.uk, displays a range of information about a customer’s mobile phone tariff specially tailored to fit on an iPhone’s screen. Information includes remaining allowances, calling plan prices, Bolt Ons and even iPhone tips. Pay Monthly customers can also view their recent charges, bill amount and bill summary. The app will be extended to those customers who manage more than one mobile number on their account, allowing them to check the usage of up to three numbers.

‘The Sky Mobile TV app is just the thing for a sports fan on the go and we’re pleased to be able to bring this app to our customers free on Wi-Fi for the first three months,’ Peter Rampling, Head of Consumer Mobile, O2 UK said. ‘We’ve also seen nearly 500,000 people download our My O2 app so making it available to even more customers is something we were really keen to do. These apps combined help reaffirm our commitment to our iPhone customers and help us remain the home of the smartphone.’
