Now there is even more reason to spend time in your favourite place, thanks to O2’s new ‘Favourite Place’ Pay and Go tariff. From March 30th 2007, customers can choose their favourite place, be it at home or at work, and make 500 minutes of free calls to UK landlines and other O2 mobiles from that postcode every month. In order for customers to join and register their favourite place, they simply need to text their full postcode (e.g. SL14DX) to 22204, and enjoy 500 free minutes to all O2 mobiles and UK landlines a month (subject to a minimum of £10 a month top-up). Favourite Place is available through all direct O2 channels – in store, online and over the phone – and is available to both new and existing customers. Favourite Place is ideal for many different customer segments. Sally Cowdry, O2 UK’s Marketing Director, explains: “We are constantly talking to our customers to ensure O2 develops services and tariffs that truly meet their needs. As many of our customers make the majority of their calls from one place, and so Favourite Place allows them to make considerable savings.” Students could make their halls of residence their ‘favourite place’, and keep track of their spending whilst keeping in touch with their social lives (and family back home). Alternatively, those who make a lot of calls from work can register their office postcode to enjoy their free minutes. Cowdry continues: “Favourite Place is a unique tariff, only available from O2, that really stands out in the marketplace. It means that a whole range of people, including students, home and location based workers will be able to tailor their call charges to their needs and benefit from even better value for money from O2.” And to make our customers’ favourite places even more special, O2 is running two great competitions. Customers can take in a 6×4 inch photo of their favourite place into their local O2 store, where it will be displayed and entered into a prize draw to win £1000 to spend on their favourite place, and there are also 25 Bluetooth printers to be won. O2 is also running a text poll to find out where their customers’ favourite place is. They can choose between the gym, the office, home, the pub or university, simply by texting the word ‘PLACE’ followed by their choice (e.g. PLACE PUB) to 60600. -ENDS-
