O2 becomes first UK mobile network to achieve CAS(T) Certification

O2 today confirmed it has become the first mobile operator in the UK to achieve CAS(T) certification for mobile voice and data services. The certification follows a rigorous audit process, in which every aspect of the network was put through meticulous testing. CAS(T) is the first certification in O2’s journey towards full Public Services Network (PSN) compliance.

The success follows O2’s significant investment in a dedicated public sector division, with the ambition to become the technology partner of choice for public sector organisations. Today’s announcement marks the next milestone since O2’s successful bid in July 2012 to secure a place on seven Lots on the Government’s PSN Services Framework.

In addition, the CAS(T) certification provides private sector businesses, for example financial institutions and professional service organisations, the assurance that O2’s network is robust and secure, so they can serve their customers in the best possible way.

The PSN initiative is set to transform the provision of communications services for public sector organisations up and down the country. The central framework gives public sector departments access to a unique network platform, offered by a combination of the best UK technology providers. As well as seeking to provide service excellence, the process is designed to maximise efficiencies and deliver better value for money when it comes to investment in technology services.
