O2 today announces that the Samsung Gear S2 classic 3G, the UK’s first smartwatch to feature the GSMA approved Consumer Remote SIM, aka the e-SIM, is on sale at o2.co.uk/shop and in selected O2 stores nationwide. The smartwatch, with its stainless steel body and range of fitness trackers, is exclusive to O2 and is available on a range of O2’s Refresh tariffs.
The Samsung Gear S2 classic 3G is the first device to feature an e-SIM approved by the GSMA, meaning it’s easier to connect to a mobile network than ever before. And because it’s connected directly to O2, customers can always stay connected from their wrist – the Samsung Gear S2 classic 3G can make and receive calls as well as send and receive texts without their phone needing to be nearby. The Samsung Gear S2 classic 3G is also packed with fitness sensors, letting customers monitor their activity levels and heart rate, and track their runs with inbuilt GPS. Furthermore, the inbuilt music storage allows customers to get instant music anywhere – even without a phone.
The Samsung Gear S2 classic 3G is available now on O2’s Refresh tariff in selected O2 stores and online. Tariff options include £22 per month with £9.99 upfront payment which gives Samsung Gear S2 classic 3G its own allowance of 100 minutes, unlimited texts and 100MB of data per month to use when not connected to a phone. The Samsung Gear S2 classic 3G pairs with smartphones running on Android 4.4 and higher with a minimum of 1.5GB of RAM.
