O2 today announces that it has successfully re-signed a contract with the AA (Automobile Association), extending the current contract until June 2013. The contract will see O2 provide all mobile services for the AA’s employees, including voice, data and BlackBerry connections.

In addition, the new deal will see O2 supplying innovative and bespoke mobile and data solutions which address the specific needs of the business and drive efficiencies. The team will also provide consultancy services to ensure customers have the most efficient system possible, conducting voice and data audits, identifying and correcting problems to optimise the solution.

The AA supplies breakdown cover to around 15 million members. Mobility lies at the core of being able to deliver this service and, as such, the demands on its telecoms supplier are incredibly exacting when it comes to overall network performance, coverage, resilience and speed.

“Mobile technology is a key mechanism for us to target our end users,” said Chris Bailey, Head of Motoring Technologies, at the AA. “We require a mobile partner with a robust and reliable network that has excellent coverage across the UK. O2 has proven that it can provide us with a flexible solution across a range of devices and its commitment to helping us drive efficiencies and effectively manage such an intrinsic part of our business has shown it to be the right partner for us.”

“The AA is a highly valued customer and we are delighted to be working with them for another five years. This re-sign proves the success of the partnership to date, and we are looking forward to building upon this by further increasing connections and creating new revenue streams,” commented Ben Dowd, Head of Business Sales at O2.
