The new deal is in response to a recent survey* of O2 customers which indicated that more free texts was the bonus most wanted by 60% of them.
All new customers signing up to O2’s successful online Text Anytime tariff will now get unlimited UK texts at the £30 top up level. Existing customers already on Text Anytime can have it by simply texting UNLIMITED to 21300 – a free text – and then topping up £30 each month. Customers on any other tariff just need to request to change their tariff from their current one to Text Anytime. Sally Cowdry, O2 UK Marketing Director, commented, “O2 has always been considered the home of text. We listened to what our customers asked us and now we are pleased to be able to give them unlimited texts, so that they can text their friends and family as often as they like with no limits.” Customers currently on Text Anytime will retain their current free monthly allowance at their existing top-up level but with the added bonus of Unlimited UK Texts if they top up £30 each month. Customers will be able to send unlimited UK texts and will still have their top up to use for calls and international texts or data usage. Customers currently on Talk Anytime, online Favourite Place or older tariffs who register for Unlimited Texts will have their current free monthly allowance replaced with the Text Anytime free monthly allowances. Customers who top up £10/month will get 300 free UK texts a month, while customers who top up £15/month get 500 free UK texts a month
