O2 supports SMBs as it launches its flexible campaign
- It marks O2 Business’ brand-new multi-million B2B campaign, including TV, featuring a familiar face – Bubl, the ever-helpful O2 robot
O2 Business today announces its brand-new multi-million pound B2B campaign, designed to show the nation’s SMBs how its tariffs and digital tools can adapt as their business changes, all on O2’s flexible network.
The campaign is launching with O2 Business’ TV advert which follows the journey of sole trader, Ted, whose shop has been forced to close. We see Ted struggling to adjust his business to the ever-changing climate, when O2 Business’ flexible credentials – realised by his reliable comrade, the O2 robot, Bubl – supports him through this transition. Bubl, the embodiment of the O2 brand, demonstrates how O2 is always there for customers as a trusted partner, whenever needed.
The advert opens with Ted packing up the contents of the store into his van looking deflated. Bubl turns on the vans stereo and – staying true to O2’s commitment to supporting up-and-coming artists – the track Higher by Everyone You Know plays. The infectiously uplifting track, which is being released on the same day O2 Business’ campaign launches, immediately boosts Ted’s mood.
We then cut to a lockup and see that Ted has adapted his business model and, with Bubl’s help, is playing records online to potential customers, while Bubl helps to package up the orders for delivery. We see online orders flooding in and Bubl emitting bubbles of joy from his antenna. The camera drifts up with the bubbles, revealing a town filled with other businesses ahead of seeing O2 Business’ flexibility credentials.
The advert first airs on Friday evening, with key spots during Coronation Street on ITV1 alongside ITV2 movies over the weekend, as well as Sunday Brunch on Channel 4.
To celebrate the launch and O2’s rich heritage in music, the public also have a chance to win a pair of O2 Academy venue tickets to a gig of their choice and a £50 record store voucher by spotting the name of the radio station that features in the brand-new advert. The competition launches on O2’s Twitter channel on Friday until midnight Sunday. T&Cs apply.
Allie Lawson, Head of SMB Brand & Marcomms, O2 said: “Ted represents many business owners around the country who are now having to navigate yet another change as the nation starts to open up again. At the heart of this campaign is a dedicated business owner who wants to succeed and adapt to the changing landscape smoothly. Nobody should be penalised for wanting or needing flexibility, and that’s why our solutions provide that support to let him, and others like him, do so.
We’re proud to be launching this B2B campaign at a time when SMBs need support the most, so they too can benefit from our flexible network as we move forwards.”
O2 Business offers automatic data roll over every month and data tariffs that can flex up and down as business needs change. For businesses that find themselves needing to work in a new way, they can add a range of flexible digital tools such as Office 365 and McAfee at any time.
The campaign will appear across multiple channels including TV, BVOD, Social, OLV, retail, PR and online – all designed to showcase the value customers get through O2 Business.
