The best of English rugby will once again be on display in Regent’s Park this summer as O2 Scrum in the Park returns to London on Sunday 2nd September. Get close to the England team to show your support and wish them luck. O2 Scrum in the Park is a fantastic free day out for all the family offering an exclusive opportunity to go behind the scenes of England rugby and meet all your favourite team players. The main pitch at O2 Scrum in the Park will feature five interactive skills stations where England players will put the public through their paces in areas such as kicking, passing, running and tackling. Participants can then head to the RFU Go Play Rugby Activity Zone to put their new skills to the test with ten skills challenges and have fun on the inflatable bungee runs and scrum machines. The Go Play Rugby campaign aims to recruit 6,000 more adults to the game this season. Visit www.goplayrugby.com or find your nearest club by texting your postcode to 64411. England captain Phil Vickery said: “The O2 Scrum in the Park is going to be a superb event and as a squad we are all looking forward to it. It’s a great chance for us to meet the fans in a public setting the day before we fly to France. There’ll be lots to see and do and I would encourage everyone to bring their families for a day out. We’ll certainly be doing our best to make it an enjoyable occasion.” O2 Scrum in the Park will also offer the opportunity for rugby fans to sign their messages of support on the Official O2 England Rugby Fan Bus which will have completed its tour of the UK. The Guinness Premiership clubs will be offering fans the chance to be part of the 2007/08 season with offers, giveaways and opportunities to win tickets to the London Double Header 2007. Younger fans can also sharpen their skills at the O2 Kick, Pass and Run Challenge coaching sessions – for more information and the chance to sign up for free, go to www.rugbycamps.com. Having worked on your rugby skills there will be plenty of opportunities to get autographs from your favourite players or simply relax in the family area and enjoy a wide range of refreshments on offer, including blistering BBQs. O2 customers get the extra treat of access to the exclusive O2 blueroom offering free massages, the chance to get player autographs and win loads of great prizes. To access the O2 blueroom, customers simply need to text BLUEROOM to 64202. “O2 Scrum in the Park is a fantastic day out for rugby fans and their families,” said Amanda Jennings, Head of Sponsorship and Interactive Partnerships at O2 UK. “The event provides unique access to the England team and the best possible chance to show your support and wish them luck.”
